Sarah B.
Please tell us a bit about your background?
I am 61 and was born in Israel. I have loved art for as long as I can remember I began dabbling in painting during high school. Later I studied painting at the Tel Hai Art Institute. Following this, I spent a year studying how to teach art. I left art for a while but returned to it after having cancer some years ago.
What inspires you?
My main inspiration for my painting is women. I do figurative painting; I feel a connection with women through my work. And I tend to work on a variety of projects at once. I can be in the middle of a painting, a mosaic and also working on a ceramic project at any given time.

What does your art mean to you?
It is everything. Everything I see, I translate to art. It is always with me. The process of painting really interests me – things come out that I did not expect. And it is calming – even though I find it difficult to distance from myself from what is going on around me. Mainly I enjoy the process, the doing, the creating.
